Scrambler Maries'
is a family owned restaurant concept open from
6:30am to 3:00pm every day. It was begun in 1990
by Shain and Phil Buerk of Toledo, Ohio at its
original location which continues to operate
today on Secor Road. Because it is a family
business most of the Buerk family has been
involved in the operation at some time. Even
Phil's wife and Shain's Mom Deby Marie continues
to hostess in the restaurants. The recipes for
the original menu which remains relatively
unchanged came from Phil's background in the
food service industry as a multiple unit Wendy's
franchisee; Shain's experience in the breakfast
business; and advice and suggestions from all of
the family whose names the menu carries.
As the years passed and the "BEST BREAKFAST IN
TOWN" gained popularity, Scrambler Maries'
opened locations to serve the Maumee, Findlay,
and Columbus, Ohio area markets.
Expanding new markets created a need for more
family involvement as Shain's brother, Brandon
and cousin, Tim came on board to help run the
operation. With Aunt Karen in charge of the
office and a third generation now bussing
tables, it truly is a family affair.
Inspired by its success, Scrambler Marie"s
continues its expansion objectives and is now
actively pursuing opportunities nationwide.
Through the formulation of Scrambler Marie's
Franchise Development, LLC. growth opportunities
abound. We expect a steady but aggressive growth
pattern of franchises from individual owner
operators to multi unit-master franchisees.
Development plans include metropolitan areas in
the Midwest states of Indiana, Kentucky,
Michigan, and Pennsylvania. We are also pursuing
opportunities for growth in the dynamic
Southeastern market states such as Georgia,
North and South Carolina, Florida, and
Tennessee. Don't worry, we're not done yet. We
have plans to open new stores every year and
maybe one even closer to you.
Through the years the same basic ideals have
remained the same. We serve a unique breakfast
with fresh ingredients and friendly service. In
order to maintain our highest quality standards
we shred our own cheeses and crack eggs right
from the shell every day. We make our own
pancake batter, salsa and chicken salad the old
fashioned way -- from scratch. All of these
things are time consuming and expensive but they
help give our food that flavor you just can't
get anywhere else.
With the base of unwavering family support;
loyal, hardworking staff; and fantastic menu
choices we are confident that Scrambler Maries'
will continue to grow for years to come.
